What do you see?
"A sculpture should create more space than it occupies," says Reinoud Oudshoorn. He seeks the magic of spatiality. Fascinated by the rules of perspective in painting, Oudshoorn tries to translate them into three-dimensional images. Beforehand, he makes detailed drawings full of mathematical calculations to approximate perspective as precisely as possible. In this image we see his preference for transparency. Frosted glass is both transparent and opaque; what we actually see is not entirely clear. This vagueness helps our imagination discover its own perspective. s niet helemaal duidelijk. Die vaagheid helpt onze verbeelding een eigen perspectief te ontdekken.
