Nina Kluth (1974)
Pergola 2 (2007)
oil paint, canvas, 160 x 210 cm
How do you experience this painting? Realistic or abstract?
Realistic or abstract? That depends on the interpretation of the viewer. In any case, urban landscapes are the starting point for Kluth's paintings. She blends natural landscape motifs with architectural elements. The visual spaces created seem recognizable, but at the same time are composed of forms and paint strokes that the viewer can see as abstract visual elements. Kluth's painting technique underscores this. Each paint stroke in itself defines the image and leads the viewer's eye from form to form.
