What personality traits do you see in this coffee pot?
Klaas Gubbels has been depicting the same selection of objects, in a wide variety of techniques and materials, since the 1950s. With endless patience, he searches for the right line, the right form, the right representation. The coffee pot is Gubbels' most famous form. To him, the jugs have become like people, each with their own personality traits. For Gubbels, every coffee pot is unique. There are arrogant and humble jugs, there are graceful, tall coffee jugs and there are small, stocky jugs. This one even wears high heels.
