What is real and what is not?
Reality, fiction and our perception - what is real, what isn’t? This dilemma is a recurring theme in photography because a photograph, much more than a drawing or painting, seems to be a representation of reality. But is it?
In his work, Kleinjan explores the role of perception in relation to time and identity. His exploration produces exciting images that leave much of the interpretive work to you, the viewer. In this wall-sized photographic print, he transforms a seemingly simple image of a cave into an exceptional and intriguing image by means of reflection. The strong colouring, the format and the prominent place in the building, make image and architecture reinforce each other.
