Opel girl I (2006)

Which picture (see Nos. 6 and 7) appeals to you most and why?
Women, power, money and eroticism are recurring themes in Hassink's work. The artist explored how women are used to represent major car brands at car shows. For six years, Hassink photographed so-called "car girls" all over the world. Thousands of photos have been brought together in a book, which gives an overview of all the differences the photographer noticed. How do these 'car girls' wear their hair, how do they touch the car, what colours do they wear? This turns out to be quite different by culture, car brand and country. Here are two examples hanging side by side. The photo Opel girl I was taken at a car fair in Paris.
