Maria Roosen (1957)
Ster (1998)
hand blown glass, height 39 cm, intersection 39 cm
Maria Roosen's artwork deals with physicality, sensuality, identity and love in the broadest sense of the word. The form of her work refers to the maternal body and to themes such as fertility and comfort, but also to transience and the cycle of life. We see ourselves literally reflected in the round forms of the sculpture. In this way, Roosen makes us and the world around us part of the artwork.
