Cerith Wyn Evans (1958)
no title (2006)
neon lamp
What story comes to mind?
Especially for the Hijmans van den Bergh building Wyn Evans designed three works of art that belong together but which cannot all be seen at the same time. They are meant to activate your senses and thinking in new ways. What do we perceive? What 'subtitles' do the artworks provide in the form of light, movement and sound?
One of the works in this triptych consists of a line of text in neon and is located on the outside wall. The line of text seems to be a subtitle to what is happening in the spaces behind the facade.
This artwork can only be seen from work rooms. These rooms are not open to visitors.
The other two artworks of the triptych are numbers 1 and 11 in the route.
